WHO IS RECSA?
The Regional Centre of Small Arms and Light Weapons in the Great Lakes Region, Horn of Africa (RECSA) and Bordering States is an intergovernmental organization established in 2005 with the sole mandate of coordinating the implementation of the Nairobi Protocol for the Prevention, Control and Reduction of Small Arms and Light Weapon which was signed on 21st April 2004.
To co-ordinate action against Small Arms and Light Weapon proliferation in the Great Lakes Region, Horn of Africa and Bordering States.
A safe and secure sub-region in a peaceful continent free from illicit Small Arms and Light Weapon(SALW) proliferation.
To build capacity of Member States and coordinate the implementation of the Nairobi Protocol and other instruments on arms regulation.
