Today the 15th of March 2021, a Five day regional PSSM training was officially opened at the Humanitarian and Peace Support School (HPSS) in Embakasi, where RECSA Executive Secretary LT.GEN BADRELDIN ELAMIN ABDELGADIR made official opening Remarks together with Mr PHIL PHIGINS of BPST-A and the HPSS Commandant COL H. MAGHANGA
The March 2021 Regional PSSM Course is jointly supported financially by the British Peace Support Team-Africa (BPST-A) and the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC).The training t is taking place at the Humanitarian and Peace Support School (HPSS) in Embakasi, Nairobi from 15-19 March 2021
The current training is attended by 10 instructor candidates, 03 senior instructors and 15 new participants drawn from the Military and Police for selected RECSA Member States. At the end of this training it is expected that the 10 instructor candidates will graduate as PSSM instructors and new candidates will be selected for future ToT training courses.
The objective of the training is to improve the capacity of participants to assess stockpiles and storage infrastructure, implement standard operational procedures and facilitate more responsible stockpile security and management practices in their respective Member States. The March 2021 Regional PSSM Course is jointly supported financially by the British Peace Support Team-Africa (BPST-A) and the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC).Countries that have sent participants to the mentioned training are Burundi,Kenya,Rwanda,Ethiopia,South Sudan Sudan,Tanzania and Uganda.
